Nana, Mimi, Nona, and even BeeGe, but very rarely Grandma....these are a few of the names given the contributors and empty nesters on our site. However, call us what you want, we all love being grandparents and/or empty nesters!
I'm Michelle, the creator behind The Empty Nests. The Empty Nests is a lifestyle blog for those "of a certain age" but also for all those looking for inspiration. In an age where "granny chic", "Costal Grandmother" or "grand millennia" are the buzz words of the times, we grew up and grew "not so old" in those times, so we can give you tips right from the source.
I'm a professional photographer for 17 years, and an artist all of my life, so I love anything design related. As a journalism major, I am also a writer and wanted a place to land my thoughts.

Outside of design and writing, I have a true passion is travel and food! So, you might find some of that in here as well! Or, perhaps contributed here from a lifetime of old and new friends who also share these passions and want to share their knowledge.

As women "of a certain age" and empty nesters, I wanted a place where women could relate outside of all the 20 to 40's something perfect bloggers and influencers out there. So, you might find some info on health, fitness, style, grown children, grandchildren and other subjects that pertain to us "not so old" older generation.
