Perfectionist...or lack thereof

Perfectionism. In the past, (like only a few months ago) I would research, tweak, and make sure everything was perfectly perfect before I did anything. In fact, since the time I was about 13 I rarely left the house without being perfectly coiffed and made up. So, I got very little actually accomplished. I was too hard on myself. Nothing was good enough.
Take this blog for instance. I've had the domain name and idea for YEARS! Although the intention was there, I was overwhelmed by the work to make it perfect. Recently though, something changed. Perfectionism gave way to action.
The logo is still a rough idea, thrown together in an hour. I briefly researched different blog sites and websites before quickly settling on this one. I had great intentions of teaching myself web design, to make it the epic site I had in my mind, before making it live...but then didn't. I just did it. Everything can be changed later. And, if a mistake is made I won't beat myself up, but take it as a lesson and change it.
I am learning, after almost 60 years, that sometimes good enough and getting it done is better than making it perfect. Unlike the millions of images and ads that are thrown at us daily, showing that, "if you just bought or did this, or that, your life would be perfect". Then, it's not.
Much like birds building a new nest. Materials are gathered where they are available. Sticks, and bits of fluff, are put together to make a perfectly imperfect home for their babies. And, far from being imperfect, it is perfect.
Everything is a work in progress. Getting things finished is a much better idea then spending the time to make it perfectly perfect.
What have you been procrastinating doing due to perfectionism? I'd love to hear. Drop me a comment, then get to work!
